Gaming streaming start-up BeyondPlay has pulled off a major coup by recruiting M&A supremo Daniel Burns to its board of directors.

Burns – the man behind many of the biggest M&A deals in the online gambling sector through his role as a partner at Oakvale Capital – has joined BeyondPlay as an NED.

Burns boasts more than two decades of experience in corporate finance and specialises in the gaming, competitions, lotteries and media sector.

London-based M&A and strategic advisory boutique Oakvale has engineered SPAC listings for the likes of Rush Street Interactive, Golden Nugget and Super Group in the US.

It has also advised on several sizeable acquisitions, such as Endeavor’s purchase of OpenBet from Scientific Games and the sale of Big Time Gaming to Evolution.

BeyondPlay CEO Karolina Pelc: “Daniel’s appointment allows us to build momentum and underlines our commitment to causing a serious stir within the industry when it comes to innovation and bringing new products to market.”

“Daniel’s appointment allows us to build momentum and underlines our commitment to causing a serious stir within the industry when it comes to innovation and bringing new products to market,” said BeyondPlay founder and CEO Karolina Pelc.

“It makes me super proud that BeyondPlay and our vision have captured Daniel’s attention, and I am confident the company will benefit greatly from this expertise, network and strategic input,” she added.

BeyondPlay was founded in 2020 with the intention to transform solo gaming sessions into engaging multiplayer entertainment experiences via shared streaming.

Pelc’s former employer LeoVegas is a 25% shareholder in BeyondPlay having invested €1.1m in the company at the beginning of its journey.
