However, Guy Kawasaki’s stratospheric rise to fame began quite a long time ago… Born in Honolulu, Hawaii in 1954, he went on to attend Iolani School where he graduated in 1972. After Iolani, Guy matriculated to Stanford. He graduated in 1976 with a major in psychology which, according to his personal bio, was the easiest major he could find. And then, just like all other rags to riches narratives worth their salt, Guy Kawasaki found himself at the right time, in the right place with the right friends.
His rise at Apple started out in 1983, through what he jokingly refers to as ‘nepotism’. His Stanford roommate, Mike Boich hired him into the Macintosh Division to work for him. He was responsible for marketing the famous Macintosh computer in 1984, earning him the widely recognised appellation, ‘hi-tech Mac-evangelist’.
Now a much-touted Silicon Valley icon and widely respected authority in entrepreneurship, venture capital, marketing, enchantment, business evangelism, and more, has managed over the past decades to reinvent the Guy Kawasaki legend several times, all the while sharing his extraordinary journey and wide range of experiences that have shaped his incredible career through his books and unforgettable keynote speeches.
