Sportradar CEO crowned EY Entrepreneur of the Year
Sportradar CEO Carsten Koerl has won the EY Entrepreneur of the Year award for 2022.
EY said Koerl – who is also a co-founder of the Nasdaq-listed sports data giant – was selected by judges for his “entrepreneurial spirit, purpose, growth and impact.”
According to EY’s corporate website, Entrepreneur of the Year is a global programme that recognises entrepreneurial achievement among individuals and companies.
Winners are chosen for demonstrating vision, leadership and success, as well as work to improve the quality of life in their communities, countries and around the world.
The category has been a fixture in the awards calendar since 1986. Since then, over 10,000 people have received the award, averaging 400 winners annually across different countries.
Koerl – who won the award in Switzerland – said: “I am incredibly honoured to win this prestigious award. I celebrate this accomplishment with the entire team.
Sportradar CEO Carsten Koerl: “We are just at the beginning of our journey as the sports, media and betting industries converge with Sportradar at the centre of this massive market.”
“I am proud that we are recognised for the impact that our innovative and visionary technology products have on the sports ecosystem.

Entrepreneur of the Year awards are given by EY to business leaders on a country-by-country basis. This year, the auditing and consulting firm awarded its Switzerland-based awards for the 25th time.
A 10-person jury was responsible for the judging of the finalists across four categories. Koerl emerged victorious in the Service & Commerce category.
