London-listed 888 is expanding its board of directors following the acquisition of William Hill.
Last week (1 July), the gaming and betting giant unveiled its new management structure but now Andrea Gisle Joosen, Andria Vidler and Randy Freer have been added as non-executive directors with immediate effect.
Meanwhile, the appointment of gaming entrepreneur Ori Shaked is awaiting regulatory approval.
Andrea Joosen currently serves as a non-executive director for electronics retailer Currys in the UK and Billerud AB in Sweden.
She previously chaired Sweden-headquartered Acast AB and was a non-executive director at ICA Gruppen and James Hardie Industries, as well as Mr Green, the online gaming business acquired by William Hill in 2018 and absorbed into William Hill International.
She also held numerous leadership roles in the media and technology sectors, including as CEO of Boxer TV Sweden and as managing director of Nordics for Panasonic, Chantelle Group, and Twentieth Century Fox.
Andria Vidler meanwhile has 30 years’ experience in marketing and technology. Since 2020, she has been the CEO of Tag EMEA, an independent end-to-end creative production partner for brands and agencies.
She currently leads the global ESG strategy for Tag. Previously, she headed Centaur Media, as well as EMI Music UK & Ireland.
She also held senior roles at Bauer Media and the BBC and sat on the board of Gamesys, where she chaired the ESG committee.
Randy Freer is the CEO of The Freer Company, which provides business vision and brand narrative advice to a broad spectrum of companies.
Prior to setting up his business, he was the CEO of Hulu, the American subscription streaming service, and led 21st Century Fox’s global entertainment and sports television assets.
Lord Jon Mendelsohn, non-executive chairman of 888, commented: “It gives me great pleasure to welcome three outstanding candidates in Andrea, Andria and Randy to the board of 888.
“As well as further strengthening the group’s corporate governance structure, they each bring extensive and highly relevant skills and experience to our board which will be of significant benefit to the group as it delivers its long-term strategic objectives as an enlarged business post the completion of our acquisition of William Hill.”

In addition, Shaked will join the board of directors once he gets the regulatory green light.
Shaked was employed by 888 as a game producer, online marketer and business development manager until 2017.
Today, he acts as an early-stage investor in gaming and blockchain start-up companies.
