iGaming hosting services provider Internet Vikings has appointed Rickard Vikström as CEO to lead the company’s further expansion.

Vikström assumed his role on 1 July 2022, replacing former CEO Peter Ekmark, who will remain on the company’s board of directors.

Internet Vikings originated in Sweden in 2008.

Over the years, the Swedish IT company has grown into a leading hosting provider by adding new products to its portfolio, including a variety of customisable hosting services specific to certain industries and countries.

Headquartered in Stockholm, Internet Vikings today employs more than 70 staff. The company operates from five countries and services clients across five continents: Europe, North and South America, Asia and Australia.

Rickard Vikström: “Currently, Internet Vikings is one of the fastest growing B2B companies in the sector and I intend to keep this pace.”

Former CEO Ekmark said: “I am convinced that I could not be leaving the company in more capable hands.

“Rickard possesses all the right skills to take the Vikings to the next level, becoming the best hosting provider for the iGaming and sports betting industry. His appointment will further boost the company’s growth strategy as it continues to deliver the best hosting experience.”

Vikström has more than 20 years of experience in the hosting industry and is one of Internet Vikings’ founders.

He is a serial entrepreneur who has established a number of businesses throughout the past 15 years. He is also an active board member at several other companies.

In 2009, he co-founded IT-Security company Stay Secure, which was then sold to J2 Global (JCOM) in 2014.

Vikström commented: “I look forward to this exciting journey leading to new achievements. Currently, Internet Vikings is one of the fastest growing B2B companies in the sector, and I intend to keep this pace.

“I would like to thank my predecessor, Peter, for all the amazing work he has done with the company’s transition over the past three years.

“We truly appreciate his input. Peter will continue to contribute to Internet Vikings’ global mission by joining the board of directors,” he added.
