  • GiG re-elects Petter Nylander as chairman and welcomes three new board members
Petter Nylander has been re-elected as chairman of Gaming Innovation Group (GiG) at the group’s AGM while three new board members have been appointed.

BeyondPlay founder and CEO Karolina Pelc, Betplay Capital shareholder Tomasz Juroszek and SkyCity’s Steve Salmon have now joined Nicolas Adlercreutz, Hesam Yazdi and Mikael Riese Harstad as directors after being elected as new members of the board.

In a LinkedIn post, Pelc said: “This is a very exciting time for the company with big vision and plans for the future, and I am humbled to be given this opportunity to work alongside a group of established industry thought leaders and add value with my expertise gained over the years, working in various leadership roles in Gaming.”

Pelc brings with her more than 17 years of experience in the global gambling industry.

Prior to founding BeyondPlay, she held leadership positions at LeoVegas Group, Betsson Group and SG Digital.

Shareholder representatives

Juroszek, representing Polish family-owned investment company Betplay Capital, has become the youngest member of GiG’s board.

Betplay Capital currently holds a 3.79% stake in GiG. The firm belongs to Zbigniew and Mateusz Juroszek, the father and son duo behind Polish gambling operator STS.

Salmon, meanwhile, is a member of the senior leadership team at SkyCity Entertainment Group, New Zealand’s largest tourism, leisure and entertainment company which is dual-listed on the New Zealand and Australian stock exchanges.

SkyCity is the largest shareholder of GiG with a 10.61% stake in the company.

As managing director the group’s Maltese subsidiary, SkyCity Malta, Salmon oversaw the development and launch of the SkyCity Online Casino in 2019.
